I took the meclizine on my first cruise. I was sick when I got on from staying in a very stale smoking room at the motel the night before. Had such a head ache, so took them jsut to be safe. I was fine and never took them after the 2nd morning. They are not expenisve. You do have to ask the at the pharmacy at WalMart as they are behind the counter but you do not need an RX.
