We were in Freeport and Nassau last week.We took a taxi over to Lucaya and went to the beach. Never felt uncomfortable at all.In Nassau we did a snorkel trip that left from the pier. Afterwards we went to the Straw Market. Again, never felt uncomfortable. Some ships stay in Nassau overnight or until midnight. I don't think I'd venture out after dark.
