Well we don't buy much because the little kids go to the mall. And I do not like it when the older kids come in scary costumes. I never know if they are trick or treaters or something else so the lights go out early. But we keep some candy on hand for the little ones. Mostly what we like! :grin

Are you ready for Halloween?

I am! And when I run out of treats (or 8pm) comes I'll turn out the lights. We always buy things we like just in case the weather is dreadful and the "Trick or Treaters" are kept in out of the cold. What I hate about Halloween is that so many people "bus" the kids into our neighbourhood and it is not uncommon to have about 200 of the little darlings ringing our doorbell! I wish kids would just stick to their own neighbourhoods....I'd be able to afford to give out nicer treats!!

Here in Iowa we have "Beggars Night" for trick or treat the night BEFORE Halloween. I will stop on my way home tomorrow to buy the candy, as this Weight Watcher doesn't need that temptation sitting around. Leftovers will go promptly to work with DH on the 31st.

good idea; send the leftover candy to DH's work!!!

we have so much candy here.... can't eat it all

We didn't buy any yet; we don't usually have any trick or treaters. Hardly any kids in our neighborhood. I guess I'll get some candy just in case....

In the 19 years we've lived here we've had probably 5 trick or treaters, and that includes the 2 times the 2 neighbor kids have come over. We live on a steep hill, not many houses here, no sidewalks, so we never get trick or treaters. We've always had to go to another neighborhood, in the "flatlands" so my DD could do her halloween thing when she was little. She's now 19 and in college. She said her and her GF are just going to watch a scary movie, since they both have early classes the next day.

I don't mind that we don't get many kids. I do mind the trouble the older kids get into though, so we will be watching. Last year it was well after 11pm when the older kids were out roaming.

Not enough neighborhood kids around here to bother with.
Even the "imports" have gone on to the more expensive housing tracts. yipee.
It really (clean up to) ticked me off when some young mother would come to the door with an infant in arms and one in a stroller too young to walk and no older children.

Already passed our Candy out - we always have our Trick-or-Treat the Sunday before Halloween from 1 to 3 during the day. Works out great as all the kids are easy to see in the daylight and it is usually warmer then. I was upset this year as we live on a cul-de-sac off a cul-de-sac. There are 4 houses on our lane and I was the only one passing out candy - so not many kids came down to our house - but the ones that did got lots of candy! lol

I took the rest to work today as I didn't want it left here.

we aloways have a block pot luck and last year we had all our candy there and got hid of all of it we are going to do the same this yeat.

Gave out a ton of candy on Saturday night at our community Halloween Walk on the Point but we may have a few kids trickle by Wednesday evening so I have one bag of candy. The problem will be keeping any left overs away from Leatheneck....he bought his favorites, Butterfingers.

We had truck or treat after church on Sunday. DD got a ton of candy there. I went through two Sams club size boxes of mini microwave popcorn. I have to get something else for regular trick or treat tomorrow night. I have no idea how many kids to expect.

I do now..:grin..after I yammered with you yesterday, on the phone...

I got on the stick, rammed over to Wally World to get it, then zoomed to work!!.. sigh ...I have NO IDEA how many trick or treaters we will have ..we are an out of the way neighbourhood with mostly retirees, and some kids.. I do figure Mark and /or Stephen will make themselves face the ultimate sacrifice and polish off the leftovers..:grin..Joanne

Paw of course got a sack of various choclate miniture. We did not have any trick or treaters last year but we get just in case--no problem for Paw to eat the left overs. I love candy corn as I have mentioned so I got a sack for me.

The Park Manager locks the gates at 5:30 and the residents are gathering at the Clubhouse for a pot luck and party. So we aren't troubled with any leftover candy.
Have fun and stay safe.

Liz

I have it ready, but I only buy the kinds I don't care for so I'm not tempted. The leftovers go to work with me, because some of those people will eat anything.
