stick with a tour and you will be fine. WE love Jamaica, but it is a third world country with 30+% unemployment. People are pushy and desperate to sell their wares. Lots of people stay on the ship in Jamaica and enjoy having a lot of amenities to themselves. Try river tubing--there was no "native market" there.
