She was stationed at Kadena, so we had to rent a car and drive (on the wrong side of the road) about 70 minutes each way to see her from Naha. (We were VERY thankful for GPS!!!)Being so far away from her home (Jacksonville) and having to leave her 3-year old son and husband at home was tough enough. So for her to have family visiting, if only for a few hours, was awesome! She's scheduled to go back there in January for 7 months this time. Wish we could fly over and visit for a few days, but unfortunately our son is no longer working for United, so we don't see that happening this time, which is really disappointing as we know how tough it is being away from family. (I served a year in Vietnam, so I'm REALLY aware of how hard that is!)She's been in for 9 years and is transferring to recruiting in order to have another child and hopefully make first class sooner. Needless to say, we're VERY proud of her!!Pete
