crown & anchor question

Getting ready to book a cruise on the Navigator of the Seas. It will be our second cruise with RCCL. We signed up for the crown & anchor membership and are just wondering if you get a better price booking with RCCL now or is it still better to go through a travel agent? Does anyone know where to get the best price?

Thanks for your help!

You really need to look around. Never assume one agent or carrier has the "best" price. After time you may find an agent you really trust and want to stick with. Sometimes a reliable, honest and efficient travel agent is worth more than saving a few bucks on the price of your vacation. I have used several agents and have also booked travel on my own. It does save some headaches if you use an agent and there are disputes with the carriers. A good agent will no all the ropes and be able to assist you in case of trouble.

Booking through the cruise line will only get you a higher price than what you could get with any of the agencies listed on this board. I'm a Diamond Member with the Crown and Anchor Society and the only discount I get price wise is if I book a balcony cabin.

Check with some online agencies that have real-time booking...you can see what the cabin will cost before even calling them. Or give one of the sponors of the board a call and have them check prices for you.

Have been on 7 RCCL cruises. Booked Navigator through Sam's Club travel agency (believe it or not) for GREAT price! Worth the call to compare a quote. Flying out of Detroit Apr. 19th with fiance.

There is nothing wrong with booking with the cruise line. Just check around before you make your final payment just in case. So far 1/2 my cruises have been with the cruise line and the other half through other agencies.

YIPEE !!! Got home last night to find the Crown and Anchor magazine in the mailbox. Inside was a $125 off coupon for our cabin on Vision of the Seas for May 4.

There were dozens of cruises with $$ off coupons. Not all cruises have coupons but we got lucky and ours was in there.

$125 ain't much but still.... I guess it pays to sign up for the Crown and Anchor Club !!

Just booked the Navigator for 4/26/03, Eastern Caribbean. It is our 2nd cruise. Got a $300.00 discount for Category B suite through RCI with our Crown and Anchor membership.

Could not beat that price from ANY travel agency or web site ,and I tried over 15 of them.

Enjoy
