Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We'll be there! My husband, my 2 kids (boy, 10, girl, 9) and I are anxiously waiting for the day to arrive. Especially the kids! They have never been on a cruise before, so they are extremely excited!

I have been trying to find updated prices online for the shore tours, but without much luck. We're not ones to do the independent thing, would rather just book them through the ship. But it would be nice to know ahead of time what it's all going to cost us.

Have you ever been to any of these port of calls? We haven't. Our last cruise was a 5 night to the Bahamas...loved it! I hope this one is just as wonderful!

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

Hey Mychelle. Thanks for responding! Nope never been to any of them. We cruised the eastern last spring on our first cruise. I have book on line 2 I was sure would turn out nice. We booked through Barretts in Jamaca, which lots of people suggest. She doesn't charge till you get there. So if the ship geeks your not out. And we are taking my parents and they are facinated with dolphins so we booked the dolphin swin In Cancun. The day in Jamaca cost $80 all inclusive. dolphin swim $99 plus $10 park fee and taxi. I haven't desided what to do on Grand Caymen, I think I'll book that on the ship. I never saw prices on line, but if you post it here, some one will probibly have answers. Can't wait to leave. Pat

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

Oh how cool. I just received an email from Barretts. They sound like a really nice bunch! I think we will end up doing something with them also. My daughter wants to go horseback riding (of all things!) and they offer that.

Where are you doing the dolphin encounter? We were thinking about doing that in Cozumel, but heck, if they have one in Jamaica, there is lots more to do in Cozumel.

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We are probibly going to snorkel where this person suggested - take a cab to the wreck of the Gamma, then walk down to Cheeseburger reef and on to the wreck of the Cali. They say it's all within 2 miles of one another. They say the snorkeling was fantastic. Its just before 7 mile beach everyone talks about. I am also considering a party sail and snorkell party boat. We had a great ime on one last year, but was a speed boat. Sorry I miss-typed, and mislead we are dolphin swimming in Cozmel, the Chankanaab park everyone raves about. No dolphin swim in Jamaca, but Barretts has tubing trips, water fall trips, native craft markets, etc. We're walking the falls, swinging over the fall pool and jumping in. Lounging around the pool, and touring the island. Everyone says you will love Jamaca if you go with her and see the non-heavy tourist places.

Kids love to ride horseback, we did it several time out west 2 years ago and found we didn't enjoy or recooperate from horse riding like we used to, but did it for my daughter too.

Are you folks arriving early in N.O.?

Nice to see I set my clock, I wasn't sure, but yours is like mine so must be a good sign.

Enjoy planning, Pat

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We're driving down to NO from Virginia, so we're hoping to be there on Friday. Haven't booked any rooms yet. I'd like a day to just see the sights around NO.

Ok, so are you going to the YS Falls with Carolyn or her husband? That's exactly the trip we are taking with them also! Decided we could horseback ride anytime! She sort of freaked me out in her email, said she would meet us at 8:15 but my itinerary says we don't even dock until 10. I thought "uh oh!".

I'm hoping we are booked at Dolphin Encounters also. I sent in the form, but haven't heard back from them. I had called them first, and they gave me a great price on doing the dolphin swim, sea lion swim, bird show, sea lion show, and admission to the park for $165 pp. Saved us $100 doing it that way. So that will take up our day in Cozumel!

We've booked with Captain Marvins Stingray in Grand Cayman and then doing the Atlantis Sub after that.

We're going to need a vacation from the vacation!!!

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

I was freeked about times too, but she explained that Jamaca isn't on ship time. SHe says they're on eastern. I also checked an island ship arrival time callendar for Jamaca and it show Conquest arriving a 7:00 where the ship says 10:00. So I 'm not going to sweat it. She loses us if she's wrong.

We're arriving in N.O. on Friday from MichiganYou might want to check on a room soon. A month ago when I was booking our rooms they were filling up because there is a 40,000 women conference in town that weekend, they told me. Many places close to town were alread booked up. I wanted to stay across or very close to the dock to make boarding easy for all, plus I love seeing the ships, and wanted to walk to the ship.

Tried to check out your website so I will recognize you when I see you but my service went totally down about 7:00 and didn't come up till after I went to bed. WOnder if the same transpertation will pick us up?

Well, enough for now. Nice chatting with you! Pat

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

were also on conquest on 4-4-04, my wife, my 11 year old daughter, and her best friend. Ive been looking into some excursions and would like to do the stingray tour but cant convince my wife and daughter. Ithink we are going to chakanaab beach and considering the dolphins. Have you seen or heard how the snorkeling and swimming conditions are at chakanaab?also is margueritaville a place to take kids in jamaica?

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We're doing the stingray tour with Captains Marvins, then in the afternoon we are doing the Atlantis Submarine.

I sent in reservation for the dolphins days ago, but was told they have only 3 spots vacant, and we need 4. Otherwise, they are completely booked up for that day. They are supposed to call me back in the morning and let me know if they can squeeze in 4 instead of just 3, so I've got my fingers crossed. It was what my kids were most looking forward to. The Park is supposed to be wonderful for swimming, snorkeling, etc.

I don't know about Margueritaville and kids. They have a big waterslide and trampolines in the water, but my guess would be that the teens take them over. We're going to skip that. You could always join us for the YC Falls and River tubing!

Pat, thanks bunches for the info about the conference! Will call the TA tomorrow and see what he can find us.

I just realized I sort of re-posted everything for dlc :lol
It's the excitement ya'll!

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

Hey, dlc are you the one I chatted with about the chocolate bar? WHere you comin' from? I've heard Margerittaville is a big party thing and personally I never liked my kids in that kind of setting. I'd ask around the board I think there are other places you can find beach toys for the famioy as well as adults.

About dolphin swim etc. Check on ship as soon as you get on board to book the dolphin thing. They have slots saved for cruise mates, but be quick. I booked in January. I also heard others say that if you show up often they can fit another person in once you get to the park.

I still haven't desided what to do on Grand Caymen, we're considering motor scooting around and snorkeling. But, might like a party snorkel boat, don't know if there is one for GC. Then again I hear the snorkeling cant be beat and there are 2 ship wrecks you can snorkle to from shore. OOH dear what to do.

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We haven't got ours yet either!

We did get a room at the Hilton Riverwalk. From what I can see it's right at the port.

Re: Carnival 4/4 anyone?

We're at the Holiday Inn. Glad you got a room. Went to your web page it's really nice. Glad to know we aren't the only ones without our docs. See Carnival has closed our cruise, appears to be sold out a week ago. Let me know if you get your docs. How'ld it go with the dolphin swim? Pat

My husband keeps teasing me so I haven't actually put the clothes in the suitcase, but tomorrow, they are stacked and ready to load. I can't wait to get out of town, I'm plenty tired of cold weather and snow. But the more it snows the more I'll appreciate leaving town. Pat

Hey there! We too, are traveling on the Conquest 4/4! Hooray! We are taking our 2 daughters, 11&13! Can't wait! We are staying at the Sheraton on Canal! Have cruised before and been to each port except Mobay. Any questions let me know!

we only have 12 days to go...We are the best. Can you tell I'am excitied? I have been to only Grand Cayman..it's my favorite . I've never sailed there I usually fly and stay a week, I can't wait to return. I'am looking forward to trying the Sea Lion swim in Cozumel, Has anyone done this? Yes , I know my Husband reminds me...they have BAD breath I still think it will be fun. What areeveryone else's plans ? We also will be spendin 3 extra days in New Orleans. Has anyone done a swamp tour ? My husband informed my last night he would like to do that.
