I was wondering if anyone had any great sites for getting a great deal on airfare. We are flying from MSP to Miami on Oct 15-23.

Thanks Jill

check individual airlines too. I check onsite agencies like orbitz, travelocity and expedia to get a feel of prices..then check the airlines site to see what they are offering.

Do not book airfare on weekends..friday being the highest of the whole week. Tuesday and Wednesday being the cheapest.

You can usually get pretty good airfare from Priceline, however, you have to be very flexible with your travel plans. Unfortunately you don't know your itinerary until after they've accepted your bid.

Like Serene stated above, checking out Yahoo travel, Orbitz, Expedia, etc. is a good idea. Prices are usually comparable to eachother. I have to say I've had the most success with Yahoo Travel and Orbitz. Also double check with the airline directly...this usually does not work for me, I usually find the better rates on the other sites.

I am flying out oct 23 from msp to orlando nwa to sail on fantasy we got rt for 178.00 now its up to 206.00 much cheaper than going though carnival. www.nwa.com

I agree with the poster who suggested SideStep (http://www.sidestep.com). it goes out and searches MOST of the airline and booking sites themselves, plus it lets you sort them in very cool ways.

When looking for air into Miami-- check and see what the airfare to FLL (fort Lauderdale) fort Lauderdale.

I see a savings of over 100pp to fly there instead.

I just booked my air are today for a January cruise. Tried several discount sites (Yahoo, Travelocity, Priceline, and Expedia). Ended up getting the best deal (or no more than the cheapest from the others) directly from American Airlines. Also was not willing to make multiple xfers, etc. (not a good idea when you are traveling from the midwest in the dead of winter).
