When we did the cave tubing we were in less than a few feet of water for the entire trip. In some spots, we had to get up and walk. However, we were told that the river's depth totally depended upon the rain. They said that a few weeks prior to our time there (June of 2003), it had rained so much that the river was high and the water moved you through the caves in 30 minutes. (it took us 2 hours)Even so, you're in a tube and life vests are available.
