Category WLT????

Can anyone tell me what Category WLT is? I'm guessing it's a wait list. Is that a good thing or bad? I was just online checking out prices. The example I used was Grand Princess, 3/4/06, and category AC. Instead of specific cabin numbers showing up it says WLT.

Yes, it's "waitlist". That means the the entire category is currently sold out, but they will still sell that category even though it's full in hopes of an opening becoming available. Personally, I wouldn't book it.

For our Christmas cruise that was sold out for months ahead of time, they were still accepting waitlists for our Category GS up until the day of sailing. There are only 2 of these cabins. IMO, this is a stupid move on Princess' part when the final payments have been paid, documents sent out and passengers obviously cruising in those cabins and there's no availability. It means possibly having to disappoint someone in the end. In a mini-suite category, you might have more of a chance, but still, it's risky, IMO.

I agree with Lady Jag but will say the "waitlist" is not a bad thing if the cruise is more than 90 days from sailing if it is a holiday sailing, 72 days if a standard sailing (this is when final payments are usually due). Many people "book" a cruise with intentions of going but when final pament is due they cancel for whatever reason. Usually just after final payment time for the cruise passes several staterooms will become available. I looked at the cruise you list in your post and as of this post there are several different categories available including mini-suites. If I were still on the waitlist when final payment was due I would probably cancel the cruise unless I could stay on the list without shelling out any cash. I would not get on a waitlist for a cruise after the final payment due date unless I can get on it without putting up a deposit.
