I am sailing May 23, 2004 on the Pride to the Mexican Riviera. Ayone at all that can help me out with any suggestions, hints, tips, about cruising I would love it. Also, any info on the ship that you might think is helpfull....... This will be my first cruise and I don't want anything to stop me from having fun. Your knowledge is greatly appreciated. I am so excited for this trip and want it to go as smoothly as possible. Thanks so much for your help!!!!!!

There's a lot on this board. You can search by topic, ports of call etc. and in the Reviews section for info on this ship. Feel free to post any specific questions you may have.

Hi!
I will be cruising on the Pride on February 8th. I've spent hours and hours pouring over message boards for information, this will be my first cruise. I just happened on this site today, and it's the best!! http://www.geocities.com/quietman01970/
This nice guy has gone out of his way to describe the ship and just about everything you will need to know! Very informative, check it out. Good luck

Hello...
I just took my first cruise in November 2003 on the Pride to the Mexican Riviera. You'll have a wonderful time! I found the ship clean and the staff wonderful!! Our room steward Michael (catigory 8I) was very helpful and remembered EVERYONES name! The dining room is just fabulous, the food good and the wait staff remembers everything from how you like your coffee to what breads you prefer. The best part is the waiters/waitress dance and sing for you after diner is served!

My advice to all of you is take far fewer clothes then you think you'll wear, a good pair of sandals and if you're a drinker smuggle your own alcohol in. I took mine in a water bottle and carried it right on board without any problems. Alcohol isn't cheap so be prepared to have a high sail and sign card if you don't smuggle it in.
Boarding the ship takes at least a good hour and half if you have an assigned cabin. If not you'll be waiting in a line that is LONG.
Please feel free to ask me any questions. I remember what it's like to not know what to expect.

If you're worried about motion sickness, no fear I was mid ship on the Panorama deck and felt the motion but never felt sick! I did feel sick in the Taj Mahal which is where you see the shows, bingo and orientation.

Happy Sailing ....

Hi we are going on the pride 2-1-04 very excited. One thing that we made sure to do when getting off the ship is ask someone that works on the cruise ship what the ships time is. We always made sure we were on that time. Because if the ship leaves at say 6:30 and that is the ships time they leave. So just make sure yours says the same thing and your on the ship. You will have a great time.

The Pride is a wonderful ship ~ nice choice for your first cruise. I'm assuming that you are going to Belize? It has to be the hottest place I've ever been to. This is definately a place to book an excursion. (There's not much to do in the little port area. Very clean, fairly new, little shops.) Our family has been there twice. On one cruise, two of my sons (18 & 19) took the cave tubing trip & loved it. On another cruise, one of my sons took a shark / ray snorkel trip & loved it.

Thanks so much for the help guys. It is all appreciated. I think I'll have a better time than most. Prepare now, have nothing but fun on the ship!!!!! Keep the hints coming if you know anymore. THANKS AGAIN.
