We're sailing in September on the Splendor of the Seas Med Itinerary and will be spending a day in
Naples, Italy. We've opted for a day in Capri on our own. Has anyone been to the Island of Capri?
What is best to do there, best place to eat, and buy those famous Capri sandals?

Thanks for any input and help!

We were there on a day trip from Amalfi. You'll want to go to the Blue Grotto if the weather allows (it has to be pretty calm). We just walked around and looked at the beautiful villas (thru the gates) and to the emperor's (name escapes me) villa at the top of the hill. You can do a lot of walking on a small island (not flat!)
We got sticker-shock at the restaurants with their tuxedoed waiters and opted for a do-it-yourself picnic, via the local alimentari (lots of fun to pick your bread, meat, cheese, veggies, etc, and get close to the locals). It was several years ago--we may not make the same decisions now! Have a great time. It's a gorgeous island and the people are very friendly!! JM
