We are sailing on the Jewel at the end of July visiting Le Harve, Plymouth, Cork, Dublin, Greenock, Bergen, Geiranger, Flam, Amsterdam.
Anyone been to any of these destinations?
Does the Ship dock near the City centres?
What are the alternatives to taking the official tours.

Also we want second sitting but are on the waiting list. Any ideas as to what will help us get a later dinner??

If anyone knows, you cruise addicts will.

Thanks

Miken,

I advise booking a ship excursion in Geiranger, they are expensive but well worth it. I did not see any private taxis when we were there. I highly recommend the overland excursion that meets up with the ship in Hellsyth. Thia was the highlight of our cruise on the Constellation.

We enjoyed a ship excursion to Loch Lomond from Greenock. We did a walking tour of Cork which I would not recommend.

You dock very close to Bergen and most ships provide shuttle service. I recommend doing this stop on your own. We enjoyed going to the fish market, shopping and riding the funicular up and down.

If you are not into steep uphill walking, beware of some of the Norwegian excursions. The sightseeing is breathtaking and the walking as well.

You will love Norway,

Greg

You are in Europe, and you most definitely can do it yourself. Go to the nearest bookstore here and invest in "Let's Go Europe". You will be able to use it forever, and it has the places to see and directions to get there in every country, every town. We backpacked Europe twice already, and Im only 23, so that book was our bible. You will be so much more free if you do it yourself, and you can choose the best sights to see. and you dont have to wait for people in huge, annoying groups that ask silly questions and take forever to go anywhere.

Amsterdam---Van Gogh museum, Heinekeen tour, Anne Frank house, and take a river boat tour.

Have fun and enjoy!
