Can I bring bottled water on the Imagination?

I have cruised many times before, so I am not a novice. I will be cruising on Carnival’s Imagination for the first time and I have a specific question about bringing beverages on board.

Has anyone ever brought a lot of bottled water with them when they boarded this ship?

My wife is pregnant and she is doing a wonderful job about not drinking anything but water (even though she knows she is allowed to drink other things, she prefers water).

Anyway, this will be a 4 day cruise and my wife drinks a few bottles of water every day, so she will go through about 15 bottles on our cruise. Obviously I don’t want to pay $40 or $50 for water on the ship if I can avoid it.

In the past I have “smuggled†soda, booze, and wine on board, but never in large quantities. I have even seen people standing in the line to board a Royal Caribbean ship with 5 cases of soda in plain view.

I know what some people will do, but my question is whether I will have any problems if I bring a case of water on board. Must I hide it inside a suitcase?

It's up to the discretion of the person checking the carry-ons. 15 bottles doen't sound excessive to me, but I've never carried on that much. I usually bring a lot of coke, but I carry on a six-pack and the rest goes in the checked luggage. I might add that the tap water on board has been very good. Better than my tap water at home. If it's tolerable for your wife, just save the plastic bottles and refill them throughout the week.

Last September when we cruised on the Sensation, we put a dozen bottles of water in our checked luggage and there was no problem at all. This May we're going to raise the stakes and add 2 bottles of wine! I don't anticipate any problems.

Just returned from Imagination today. You'll have no problem bringing water on or anything else for that matter. If you pack it in your bags, they'll leave it alone. If you wheel it in on a cart they may have a problem with that.

We took an extra suitcase last fall which we put nothing but cola and water in. At end of cruise we had a bag to bring home our souveneers. We drive to port so no problem with haveing to pay airfare for water.

Bring an empty bottle. The water onboard is distilled. Fill the empty bottle at the sink.
