Can I ask for some prayers...

I am working with a young couple who are getting married the first weekend of October. This bride is so sweet and what should be a very happy time is saddened by her mothers stage 4 breast cancer. Her mother is failing fast and I just hope she can make it to the wedding day, to be there to share what will be a bitter sweet day for them. I can only imagine how sad this must be for them, what a struggle it must be for her mom to hang on and how sad it is for my young client to know she is going to have to say goodbye. I just hope the two of them can make this last memory together but her liver is failing. If you can try to keep them in your thoughts and prayers till the wedding maybe we can help them make that memory together with the power of prayer and positive thoughts. A young bride should be happy, thinking of new beginnings, not saying goodbyes. They are not friends, just clients but this family has really tugged at my heart in the short time I have known them.

It is so strange how life often shows both of her sides at the same time. When my father passed away I could not help but think of the many happy people in that hospital who had welcomed a new little life into their family at the same time as I said goodbye to my beloved father. When my little yorkie Impy died I was heartsick and so jealous of every person I saw who was walking or playing with their own pets. In our joy we are almost always in the midst of sorrow. And in our sorrow joy continues!

I pray that the mother of this young bride finds the strength to live on this earth until she sees her beautiful daughter walk down the aisle on the arm of her new husband. I pray that should it not happen for this young couple still go forward finding happiness in their new life together and knowing that Mom would have wished this for them.

Beryl, very nice post. Whimsy, what a very sad tale. It's amazing the "little things" you get upset about, and then you read something like this and it puts things in perspective. And often times makes you feel very ashamed at yourself. It is very sweet of you to seek prayers for these clients. Praying that they find comfort in each other and joy in the moment for how ever long they have together. Please keep us updated.

I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers but sadly the girl's mother was just not able to hang on any longer. It broke my heart to get the call from her fiancé. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. The poor girl has to bury her mother tomorrow and walk down the isle next Saturday. I cannot imagine the emotions she is and will be going thru.
