Have done this twice, first not by choice, due to the swine flue epidemic in mexico, second by choice because we loved it. Both of us were born and grew up in Southern California, live in Northern Nevada and visit San Francisco pretty regularly, so for us nothing was a new experience, we eithe lived in or spent time in the ports of call, for us it was simply a relaxing cruise, both times. Sandy Eggo, if you've never, do the zoo and Balboa Park, Ensenada, go into town, have nachos and a beer at Pappas and Beer, go back to the ship, Santa Barbara, do a wine tour, just to see the country side if nothing else, San Fran, gheesss where do I start. Wander the Wharf, take the ferry to Sausalito, Alcatraz, (do a ships tour, reservations are weeks in advance for on your own) Golden Gate Park (takes three days to see it all) and if you have any time left, take a cable car ride, the Powell/Mason route is not to far from the pier.
