Booked this cabin for our upcoming cruise in Sept. 06 Mexican Riviera. Anyone had this cabin? Pros/Cons? Would appreciate info. Always had Caribe deck midship but decided to try this aft cabin.

Thanks -- Jo in AZ

Had a friend who booked this cabin and they loved it. It was VERY private and they loved it for that reason. The drawbacks are a bit more motion and noise from the aft terrace pool. Its also a bit more walking from the elevators and a hefty walk to ANY activities toward the front of the ship. We love aft balconies but they are NOT for everyone. Enjoy!!! :thumb

Hey E., just curious...the noise your friend was getting from the pool, was it when they were out on the balcony? It seems to be a little strange to have noise in this stateroom when you have the Grand Suite above (Baja Deck) which is below the terrace pool (Aloha Deck). I have wanted to try one of these but they are always booked when we want to go. Yes, I know I need to make a decision about the cruise sooner and book further out if I want one because they are a popular choice.

We were in C748 on the Sapphire in October, the cabin on the Diamond is
identical with exception of decore. It is an outside double w/balcony, the
cabin is roomy enough has a fridge, don't expect it to freeze ice cubes but
it keeps things cool. The balcony is comfortable and will handle four people
fine, ours had two chairs, two loungers, and a round table that could hold
a dinner serving, in fact we had dinner on the balcony one night and it worked
out fine. Drawback is that from the balcony you can not see around an look
down the side of the ship, there is a stair casing about 10/12 feet wide, so your
view is limited to the back and straight sideways, did not bother us.
Another nice thing is that you are in the high rent district, there is a
full suite beside you, below you, and the penthouse is above you, and on one
side of you is a stairwell that is a service stairs so is rarely used, all in all
real quiet and secluded but as mentioned, it is a long hike to the real stairs
and elevators. We liked it so much that we have the same cabin this fall
when we do the same cruise again on the Diamond. I think from 1to 10 the
cabin is an 8, maybe even a 9.

Thanks so much for all the information. I have not read anything that will make me change my mind and if anything, has me looking forward just that much more to September! And the distance to stairs, elevators, etc. -- hey, we are on a cruise so we tend to eat and drink more than usual, therefore we need more exercise, right?

And I like that idea about being in the "high rent district" -- it will be the only time to get there without paying the price.

Happy Cruising -- Jo
