Day nine: Grand Cayman Feb 28th 2009
We woke up as the Caymans came into view.
Einstein went to breakfast with maw and paw, while I took my time and showered and then sat on the balcony with a banana, milk and a cookie. As you can see, I was not ready :grin
The Aida came in next to us.
Today we are off to Jimmy Buffett's. So we arranged to meet anyone who wanted to go with us down in the atrium at 10.30
We had a pretty good crowd assembled.
You can see that Brenda was tired of the photographers..

So we got down to the ferry and started out on what would turn out to be yet another great @ddicts day.
We had to get the groups photo taken..

Then we rambled through the new (to me) shopping area, but saw no bargains at all.

Some of the ladies were determined to buy something.

So we set off for Buffetts.
We kinda arrived in dribs and drabs, but ended up with about 20 of us, so had to move from the small shelter we had first sat down in.
First shelter.

Einstein led the group over to the other side of the pool, right here..

And the guys pulled tables together until we had enough room for everybody.
Einstein had to try out the pool and the water slide.

We had a great time there. It was nice to sit in the shade with the ceiling fans on, yet it was open to the outside.
We all ordered some food, and the portions had us gasping.
I had to have the cheeseburger in paradise, and so did Einstein, yet we could have easily shared one.
Maw and Paw ordered Nachos Grande… and it was a mountain :lol

The beers were cold, the food was great and the company was the best.
We spent some wonderful hours here.

Eventually the gang broke up and we started to head back to the ship.
Us, Ed and Cyndi and Rick and Jeanie stopped in a few stores, but still came away with nothing.

We took a photo op in front of the ships at anchor.
Rick and Jeanie opted to stay onshore a little longer, but we headed back and once on board we headed to the pool.
We ate in the windjammer around 5.. as there was a pool party later that evening, so we were not going to the dining room that night
.
We watched the Caymans fade in the distance as we came to the end of another beautiful day.
There was a beautiful sunset.
There was a beautiful sunset.
Then we showered and changed and headed for the show and Marty Allen. I knew from past experiences that his show would be packed, so we wanted to be there a little early.
That man is amazing. Yes, you can see that age is slowing him down.. But we should all be so lucky to be able to do the things he is doing at his age. It was a fun show.
We did get together with him after the show and had a photo taken with him.
He again said that next time we are on the same ship, just give him a call.
We went to the pool party, but it had turned cold and windy, so we headed in and tried out a few bars.
We were kinda like the three bears..
The first one was the vortex lounge, but even sitting in the corner it was too loud. So then we went into the smoking bar that is right outside. It was empty. We went in with the understanding that if someone came in to smoke, we would leave quietly, as it was made for them.
Timing is everything.. We no sooner got comfortable than a smoker came in. So we left and ended up in the safari lounge that was underused, as the poor atrium was jumping with noise.
But even that was not without a move :lol The place was darn near empty, but we picked a place where people could smoke.. Something we found out, as we no sooner sat down when someone wanted to smoke came in. So we found a no smoking section, and had a nice drink and some conversation.
Now do not get the wrong idea.
In both instances WE were in the ‘wrong†place. So each time we moved quietly.
While I have never smoked, I have been around smokers all my life, and it does not bother me. But some are not so fortunate, and smoke does bother them.. That is why we moved.
After a nice drink and a chat, it was time to hit the sack.
We had a very busy day.. with lots of fun and lots of play.. but now it’s time to go to bed and lay down my sleepy head….…
