What are the options for travel between Zeebrugge cruise dock and town of Brugge? I've read something that leads me to think "canal boat" transport is available. If so, I'd like to know details.

We are going to be there in May and from what I could find out using the railroad is the most efficient way to get from the port to Brugge. Supposingly it is less than a 1 hour trip and if you get off your ship as soon as possible you can usually beat the tour buses.

Have a great next cruise.

Bugge is a beautiful city not far from where the ship docks. There were buses from our ship to train station. Brugge was less than 45 minutes away by train. Walk right out of the station into town. It looks much like you imagine it looked centuries ago. The city has a canal system you can take tours on. Or just walk around the building are all beautiful. The best part is you don't need the ships tour to do this. Lots of food, shopping, the best ice cream from a horse drawn cart right outside train station. We sent chocolate home from one of the many chocolate shops. One of the best days we had. It did get crowded as the day went on. We slept in that day and I wished we had gone earlier. The train station was not walking distance from the ship. i would definitely go again.

On another board I saw a post that said the railroad between Zeebrugge and Brugge didn't run on weekends. Has anyone else heard this??

Thanks
