Booking future cruise while onboard

Hi - I've read in the past that you can book a future cruise while onboard Princess for just $100 deposit per person. Is this always the case? Anyone out there done this? Do you have to pick a particular cruise at the time you give your deposit? Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks,
Kathy

Yes, it is possible to book a future cruise while on board for $100 per person deposit, not all Princess ships have the ability to book future cruises (most newer ones do). You do not have to name which cruise you want, after you return home you go to your travel agent and they will make the booking on the cruise you decide on. You have between now and 2005 to make the booking. Family member works for Princess and I got this info from her.

Thanks for the info! We will be on the Grand 9/8 and wanted to put deposits down for 2004. My son and fiance want to get married onboard and we are planning for this event already!

Actually, I have another question...if I am booking for several people, what info do I need to have with me. Would names & addresses be enough, or do I need SSNs or other personal info?

Thanks!

You don't have to give any information for a TBA booking - just the number of spaces for which you are giving a deposit. If you know the booking you want to make, then names are all which is necessary. Once you transfer the reservation to your TA, he/she can take care of the rest.

If you're going to be doing a group booking which will include more than 8 cabins, be sure to speak with your TA (or a TA who frequently does group bookings) about the group before you go - so you can take advantage of any discounts to which you may be additionally eligible. The more information you have, the better you can make decisions.

We booked a future cruise while on the Grand and it was immediately transferred to our TA with our permission. I was even told that the price my TA had for that particular cruise was even better then the price that Princess could give me. A confirmation and small canvas bag were left in our room during the cruise. When we arrived home we changed our reservation (different ship) with our TA and still received the on-board credit that they gave. It's a great way to make sure that you always have a cruise booked!

Do it on EVERY Princess cruise we are on as U can NOT beat it. We then transfer it to our TA when we select the cruise we want to sail on using it. U ahve several years to decide so its is NOT something where an immediate decision is required. :thumb
