I believe the time is shortly coming when you will need to have a government issued ID just to fly out of an airport within the country. Having a passport is a good thing because you KNOW you will be cruising again and again during those 10 years!Besides that, if an opportunity to cruise comes up suddenly sometime...you won't have to worry about getting a valid ID.
