Beach towels...should we pack them?

From reading these boards, I've heard that Carnival supplies beach towels. Should we pack our own just in case they don't or in case they run out? They get very bulky and tend to take up a lot of space in the luggage. We'll be on the Triumph 6/19. Thanks in advance!

There's always been PLENTY of towels poolside. I'd say use the space in your luggage for more important things. Even if there is a shortage poolside, all you have to do is point that out & more towels will appear!

Your room steward will provide you with beach towels prior to reaching each port. You just need to return them or you'll be charged around $20 a piece. I've never had a problem with them running out on the ten cruises I've been on.

All the towels passed out by the stewarts are identical and if you leave yours on a chair while you get a drink or go to the rest room or go in the pool and it disapears, you are subject for a $20.00 fee per towel for their loss. I have saw people take towels off chairs and use the chairs...... Dean

I think the price is more like $22-25.00 for those beach towels. You get them from your room steward.

Always remember that, if for some strange reason the ship suddenly stops providing beach towels, just buy a few to use and then to keep as souvenirs. They are available for purchase just about everywhere on the islands and, of course, in the ship's gift shops.

I agree we took 4 from home, what a waste of space... one time my son & hubby went on deck & there were no towels present by the pool / spa... so, they came back down to the room & grabbed the lovely blue Carnival ones... on top of that, my son had a birthday onboard... so we bought him a nice souvenir one.... ughhh... more to pack.... we did end up leaving LOTS of stuff with a note to the steward to do with these items as he saw fit... a fan, some febreeze, pool & sand toys.... he stopped us in the hall to thank us !

Another suggestion that might help would be to pack a foldable backpack into your suitcase and when you come home, you can use it to help carry off some of the stuff you bought.

Another suggestion that works pretty well if you're on a cruise where you're going to be doing a lot of shopping is to ask the store where you buy stuff if they can ship it home to you.
