I'm with you...I have trouble justifying the extra expense of a balcony cabin - even if it's more private. When we cruise to Alaska and Panama..in the future sometime...we'll want balcony cabins for those. But for our regular crusing unless we're presented with an offer we can't refuse (like $20/pp more than an ocean view cabin) we generally don't book cabins with a balcony. The ones that have impressed me the most are the ones that wrap around the corner of the ship in back. They are larger with more furniture space, etc.
