Well we made it to Astoria. hasn't changed much since we drove there back in the 80's. I'd venture to say almost not at all...... but there was a nice new Maritime Museum downtown on the waterfront. We docked to the West of Downtown. There was a group of tourista trap tents set up on the dock area. Buses ran a shuttle downtown all day $6. US return anytime. A ship load of folks overwhelms this port at first until you get dispersed.Great bargins on up to date clothing at the JCPenny store which was right out of the 60's.A nice trolley that runs along the water front. And you could walk the track right of way quite easily if you wished. Likely 20 mins to downtown harbour area. The Goonies tshirts are still available in the old second hand store on the harbour. As were almost anything else old you might want from the area. For more Information and an overall view of the area and a pac nor-west cruise go to the Website of one of our fellow cruisers. They did a bang up job:Click on the Pacific NorthWest link- the Infinity Aug 2005 Vancouver to San Francisco<http://www.thepreismans.com/>
