Ashley is Having Surgery - Prayers and Good Thoughts Please

My daughter Ashley is having surgery in the morning. She has a bone growing on top of her hand and it has been causing her pain for a long time. It's called carpal boss surgery. In the big scheme of things it's not a major surgery but it's my daughter and I worry. We have to be at the hospital early in the morning and I would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts. Thank you!

Positive thoughts that all goes smoothly & she recovers quickly. The love of our children makes us worry no matter how minor something may be.

Thank you all!

Ashley is home and resting. All went well with the surgery, now she just has to recover. It will take about 4-6 weeks. I take her to the doctor's on Monday and see how things are progressing.

Ashley called me this morning and said the pain is not too bad today. She needs to keep it elevated though to keep the pain down. She is now wondering about showering and putting her hair up in a ponytail so I know she is feeling better. I am taking dinner over there for them tonight to give them a break.

Whim, there are all kinds of waterproof covers for casts and bandages on the market. You can find them at WalMart, Walgreens, etc. They work very well, and as long as the water pressure on her hand doesn't bother her, she can easily go in the shower. But she'll have to wash her hair with one hand!

Glad to hear that Ashley is improving.

I used those waterproof covers on my arm when it was in a cast for the better part of 3 months. They worked pretty well. I only had the use of my right hand and arm to wash my hair -- it took a while to get that mastered. But my DH had to help with washing my back -- just couldn't get it.

Keep us updated on how Ashley is doing.
