Amsterdam 14 day Alaskan Explorer Formal Nights

Does anyone know what nights are formal nights on this cruise?

We're planning on dining at the Pinnacle and/or Canaletto those evenings.

Our documents indicate that we will have 4 formal nights -- so I assume that they will be the same nights as we had last year. I had hoped that they would cut back to 3. This spring on our Maasdam cruises our documents indicated that on our 10 day cruise there would be 3 formal nights - we had only 2. On the 14 day segment instead of 4 we had only 3 formal nights.

Last year's formal nights:

The first sea day after we leave Seattle.
The Sea day after Icy Straight Point.
The night of Kodiak.
The Sea day after Sitka.

Thank you, Yonnie. That will aid in our choices of nights for dining.

Do you happen to know if we can pre-book Pinnacle and still get our 50% savings?

You can prebook the Pinnacle -- but you won't get the 50% Loyality discount until after you have eaten there. You pay the full price via credit card when you book. Then after you dine at the Pinnacle -- you get shipboard credit for that 50% Loyality.

Ever since this new program began, every cruise we have to fight to get our 50% credit. On one cruise we were still fighting for a Pinnacle dinner that I had prebooked for a night that was 3 days before the end of the cruise. Some people have no problems getting the discount. Don't know why we have so many problems.

HAL could and should develop a program where it recognizes that we (meaning all people) are 4 star Mariners and give us the discount when we prebook.

and give us the discount when we prebook.

I couldn't agree with you more. :(

We're going to use soda and some of the other items from the mini-bar since we're supposed to get a 50% discount on that as well.

Good luck in getting items replaced.

Now that HAL has cut back several wine stewards on all the ships, people are reporting that items used from the mini bar are not being replaced. On our last cruise -- no one ever came to check our mini bar in 25 days. A couple people had to go to the Neptune Lounge and have the concierges get someone to replace items.
