Hey Guys,
Posting again about the Pride (or any ship for that matter). Has anyone stayed in one of the standard rooms with balcony at that back of the boat facing backwards. We booked one of these rooms because we were told the balconies are way bigger and that we would get a great view. I know some of the bigger suites bookend us, so that must be good. Any details???

Thanks a lot,

Facing backwards? Do you mean that your balcony looks out to the wake of the ship? I have an aft balcony for the first time in March, but I was lead to believe that (at least on my floor) it is the same size as the other balconies in my catagory. I think that corner aft balconies are a little different shaped, but I again thought same overall size but maybe the actual balcony itself being larger. Good question! Nan

Hi,
Did you book a catagory 11 or 12? I hear they do have a larger balcony. I do know that if you get motion sickness easily that catagory has a lot of motion. The dining room and the adult pool are both at the back of the ship and you FEEL the motion a lot!!

We had an 8I with the extended balcony and I don't think it's worth it! We used our balcony to watch the sunset/rise and when we were at port (to watch the drunks return) but to be honest I wouldn't pay the extra money for the larger balcony again. All the balconys have two chairs and a small table. It's fun... but not worth the extra money to have that one foot longer of a balcony. I also didn't sit out on the balcony the way I thought I would but I wouldn't go without having a balcony. Of course that's just my opinon!

As for the view... I think any balcony on the ship gives you a great view!! We met friends on the ship that had a lower catagory with a smaller balconey and it had just about the same view we had up on the Panorama deck.

FYI, the first 3 days of the trip are at sea so you won't see anything but water.

Enjoy your cruise!

We had aft balcony on the Carnival Legend last April. This was our 6th cruise but first for us for that type of cabin. We were on top in Cat. 8I right in the middle and we have decided if at all possible on our next cruises we will be requesting the aft. cabins. The balcony is bigger(not much) it entends out the back more, but the veiw was fabulous. We have had side balconys and like the aft much better for their veiw. We were on the top and had NO problem with people or noise, also did not notice any more motion than usual. Have a great cruise and enjoy your room!

I felt very interested in reading your question and what the replys were going to be.
We have a Category 11 suite (aft) booked on the Legend for March 12. I have seen pics of the balcony and it looks HUGE. It looks like a wrap around with about 8-10 windows to view out of. I am looking so forward to this trip as we are going with about 14 other people and I have a feeling all the parties will end up in our suite! I do have concern though as far as the motion being worse at the back of the boat. I'll just have to let you all know when we return! Wish me luck!

Yup, I am concerned about motion sickness too. We had an aft inside cabin on a lower level of the Inspiration and I got sick on formal night :( But I took Meclizine last year and we had the smallest balcony right in the middle of the ship. First day @ sea awoke to a fierce storm and never got sea sick at all. I just had to try and aft balcony though. It was our favorite area to be on the ship, and last year on RCCL there was no real public deck that you could get a good outdoor view of the wake.
