We are trying to plan to meet up with some new friends once everyone boards the ship but trying to figure the time to meet is hard as the ship sails at 10 p.m. and we don't know when
early seating dinner is?
muster drill is?
Which bar is a good meet and mingle kind of place? We are thinking the sky bar?
Thanks for your help!

Hey Tamara,

Can I add a question about late dinner seating the first night?

If the dining room late dinner doesn't start until 9pm will we miss the sail away party that starts at 10pm?

Thanks,
Jodi...

Of course you can add that question , Jodi!
Hope someone can answer it for us!

Hi, I have been looking for this board for months, and now that my cruise is over, I finally found it. We sailed the 7/11 AOS. It was the Aruba itinerary. The first night Main seating is at 6:30 and Late seating is at 9:00 The muster drill is at 8:30. Between seatings. We had an email group from another board, and we all met at 5:00 p.m. at the Pool bar on the first day. Another nice place to meet is the Blue Moon Bar. What you call the Sky bar is a pool bar on the 12th deck. It is a good place to meet also. The best thing you can do is pack your bathing suits in your carry on and change into them as soon as you can. You will have to pools all to yourselves! The AOS is awesome, and the islands are great also. My sister went on the other itinerary so if you have any questions about any of the islands or the ship let me know.

Got2Cruise.........if late dinner seating is at 9:00 , do people with this seating miss the "Sail Away" at 10:00?

Nobody will "miss" the4 sail away if they don't want to....if you're like me, you tell ytour waiter, finish early, and go!

It started raining, just at 10 pm. so we really didn't have a sail away party. But they didn't really make a big deal of it. There is only one show on the first night and it is at 10:45 p.m. The ship has a party atmosphere from the moment people arrive at lunch time. We met our online friends at 5:00 at the pool bar, and the area was filled with people having a good time.

Does anyone have the dinner menu for each day on AOS (itinerary with Antigua,St.Lucia). We plan on dining at Portifino's a couple of nights and wanted to know what days were best to do that.

I heard tuesday was a good night to eat at portofinos- it is caribbean jerk night in dining room and someone posted that they don't do it that well? Not sure about another night to go to portofinos but sure someone will be able to give you this info

Everyone thanks for the information. I guess depending on the weather we might just skip the dining room for dinner the first night. Although, it sounds like we might be able to do it all!!

Jodi....

Yes, Tuesday on the Aruba itinerary is Caribbean night. That is the night we ate at Portofinos. On the other hand, because the ship is in Aruba until 1 am, many people want to stay on the island and experience Aruba stuff. The pub crawl is very popular and I think it includes dinner. Another thing people like to do is the sunset sail. Tuesday night there is no show in the showroom. There is an Ice Show at 9:00.

I've sailed on both itineraries of AOS and LOVED them both! You are in for an AWESOME time! If you have any questions about the ports or whatever, I'll try to answer them for you!

If you have late seating, you will miss the sailaway party if you eat in the dining room. We ate in the Windjammer the first time because our luggage did not arrive in time to change for dinner. (although our waiter later told us that on the first night, "anything goes" in the dining room--even shorts! This time we packed fresh clothes in our carryons) The sailaway at 10pm out of San Juan was beautiful, we sailed past Old San Juan with a "Caribbean" band playing on the pool deck. It was one of those "magical moments" being our first cruise and all! This year, we ate in the dining room and were sorry to miss the sailaway (we were in the middle of our main course).

Hey Got2Cruise! Have you decided to look at other boards like me?? Too much negativity on the CC boards these days! Still in the planning stages for next summer! DH not as excited because we are planning on bringing the kiddies next time! :)

For the 2 AOS itineraries, there are many stops which concern both the wife and I. We really enjoy the ship sometimes much more than the ports. Can anyone speak to ship activities on the AOS say compared to a standard Western Carib. cruise?

To JeffC -- While the AOS was in port, it was very quiet. If you stay on the ship you will have the ship to yourselves. The activities at Sea Days were your standard RCI activities, horse racing, pool games, Bingo, Wine Tasting, napkin folding, art auctions. The only thing I noticed different was the sports activities available, such as the rock climbing, basketball, golf, ice skating.

PS. Hi Cruiseblues, this is a friendly board, I like it here. :-)
