Junk food

I do indulge in junk food on occasion but have often wondered why cruise lines never really offer it.
I'm talking about things like potato chips, Fritos, Doritos, cheese puffs, pig skins, peanuts, nachos, Frito pies,
pretzels (big and small), along with appropriate dips such a cheese sauce, jalapenos, onions, olives,
salsa, etc. Popcorn is the usual standby for movie viewing, but essentially there's nothing else. There are many snack
options that most people enjoy but few are ever offered except popcorn and maybe ice cream.
Ice cream is nice but often just offered with no extras like whipped cream, nuts, cherries, a variety
of sauces such as hot fudge, strawberry, cherry, chocolate, banana, etc.
I very much prefer real dipped ice cream as opposed to squirt cream extracted from a machine
and made from chemical packages.
Wouldn't it be nice if cruise lines had a general junk food station with many options available?
I and most everyone are aware of the health implications of junk food, but many still indulge at least
sometimes. We're on vacation. Do we really need diet police to tell us what is good for us? Free choice!
Let's hear it for junk food!

Hee hee... I bring my own.... Pop Corn is general a no no cause pax general share with their kids and kids throw it around and drop it..... and is too big to get sucked up by those mobile vacs that they use these days. So becomes a PITA.

Good topic though lol I always have a hotdog when its on the lunch menu in the main dining room.. Usually its terrible and I sojourn to a top side cafe for a better one. However I was once on a newish RCL for a whole week once and never made it to the Dog HOuse or what ever they call it. I'll have to go back someday soon.

I hear you. I am fond of nuts and Reese’s Pieces, so I pack my own or pick them up in whatever port city the day before departure along with the wine to wash it all down!:)

Gee, thank you Alex for your helpful advice. I just never thought that it might not be good for me. Do you
have any other suggestions for how I should live my life?
I'm sure others would enjoy hearing from you on how you think they should live their lives also.

was just a comment from someone that does not find the values in junk food not an attack on your lifestyle or habits

Interesting observation how most cruise lines do not have any kind of chips, nuts or pretzels. Now that you bring it up, you would think someone would put out some peanuts in the bars to sell more drinks. :)

I know Viking did put out some small snacks in the lounges but, I can't think of any major cruise line. Great question.

I do know many lines now offer Gelato. It's kind of the in thing but, you often have to pay for it or it's served only at certain times.

Some lines did Ben & Jerry's as well.

Junk food? No such thing! Pretzels. Chips. Candy. Aren't they in one of the important food groups? I'm sure they must be. Like ice=cream, cake and cookies. Junk is in the eye of the beholder.;)

Celebrity used to put out salted nut/pretzels/Breadsticks in the various bars. Thing of the past now I'm sure. RCL still sells small bags of stuff in their small goodies store.
